Spence Portraits, based in beautiful Savannah, Georgia, was born out of three decades of art making and a passion for giving great gifts. I've always loved to draw and one day, as I took a picture of our cat Phoebe taking in some sun on the porch I thought, "I should draw that!"

    The rest is history - portraits of family and friends, portraits of pets and kids. And somewhere along the way I realized that hand drawn portraits make beautiful and meaningful gifts. When I draw, I like to think that I am capturing the essence of the pet or person that I am working on. Especially in this digital age, there's something special about receiving a personalized, original work of art made by an artist you can communicate with.

  Spence Portraits is a team affair. My lovely wife, Wendi, handles everything but the drawing and, for this, I am eternally grateful. She also does custom framing and loves to turn portraits into a treasured keepsake ready to hang on your wall!
